Both stands are near or at completion. Ground shadows are very rough stand-ins until lighting is more solidified for this shot. Once the ground plane is done in CG, I'll be adding some more dusty grunge and color adjustment on the base of the stands to help integrate them with the scene.
With mocked-up depth-of-field and atmospheric light:

Looking cool! Don't be afraid to push the gradiation in the sky (brighter hits ob the clouds uver the cart). Also is the middle of the ferris wheel going to be that bright?
ReplyDeleteSorry about the typos.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't use depth of field in this shot. It gives the impression that the cart is a miniature. From this distance and the scale of your scene you'd be closer to infinity with your focus. The atmospheric light gives you great depth and helps the cart stay prominent in the foreground. If the ferris wheel is a little soft you're probably okay.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI know its a work in progress, but are you planning to put some kind of detail in there that indicates what the material of the ground plane is? Its very smooth...
Yes, although the ground plane will be surfaced in 3D rather than painted, so I did not touch it here. The idea behind this painting is that we plan to project the two mid-ground stands onto cards in our scene, which will be fully lit and textured.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments!
