Burning Tests

  1. Hey Team Awesome! Great start on your fire / smoke. This is Dale, I'll be your instructor for Effects Animation in a few weeks. Just a few thoughts, I was wondering if you've videotaped any fire / smoke reference, it would be great if you posted it on your blog too, nothing beats firsthand video reference to catch all the nuances of the real thing and then make decisions on where you want to charicature from there.. One thing you might try to do is keep the dog's face a little clearer, it might be funny to see his expression through the fire. I'd also see if you could get some added detail of some licks of fire on the edges. But like I said, I think you're off to a great start! Feel free to email me if you want any tips or assistance! - Dale

  2. Thanks for the comment Dale! Jill is helping us get some puppy pyrotechnics set up next week. We'll be burning stuffed animals with various fire-producing tools and filming it, as you suggested. Look for the posts next week!
